AA Just Today ("we", "us", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Data stored on your device only:
- Sobriety date
- Journal entries, gratitude lists, and inventory entries
- App preferences and settings
- Checklist progress and streaks
- Audio playback positions
This data is stored locally using AsyncStorage on your device. We do not have access to it. It is never transmitted to our servers.
Data We Process
- Location data: Used only to find nearby meetings and display weather. Processed in real-time, never stored on our servers.
- Email address: Only if you sign up for early access or contact support. Used solely for communication about the app.
- Audio transcription: If you use voice recording in journal entries, audio is sent to our server for transcription using OpenAI Whisper, then immediately deleted. We do not store your audio.
- Purchase data: Managed by Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat for subscription processing. We do not store payment information.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not serve ads
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties
- We do not create user accounts or require registration
- We do not use cookies on our website beyond essential functionality
Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions. Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store: Processes payments and manages TestFlight distribution. Privacy Policy
- Open-Meteo: Provides weather data based on coordinates. No personal data is sent. Terms
- OpenAI Whisper: Audio transcription only. Audio is deleted immediately after transcription.
Content Attribution
The app includes content from various sources used for educational and personal recovery purposes:
- The Big Book (Alcoholics Anonymous): Text of the 4th Edition, published by Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. Used for personal recovery reference.
- Daily Reflections: Published by AA World Services, Inc. Daily meditations written by AA members.
- Daily Stoic readings: Sourced from dailystoic.com and adapted for recovery context.
- Touchstones: Daily meditations sourced from Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation publications.
- As Bill Sees It: Published by AA World Services, Inc.
- Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions: Published by AA World Services, Inc.
- Speaker tapes and workshops: Audio content sourced from SoberCast, a publicly available podcast of AA speaker recordings.
- Big Book audio: Courtesy of the Internet Archive (Alcoholics Anonymous 4th Edition audio collection).
This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. (AAWS) or any AA entity. AA and Alcoholics Anonymous are registered trademarks of AAWS.
Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Data Retention & Deletion
All personal data is stored on your device. To delete it, use "Reset All Data" in Settings, or uninstall the app. We have nothing to delete on our end because we don't store your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
